Frequently Asked Questions
How many bathrooms do you have in each unit?
Each one-bedroom unit has a full bathroom, including a Jacuzzi tub/spa. Each two-bedroom apartment has 2.5 bathrooms consisting of a 1/2 bath on the first level and private baths for each bedroom, one of which has a Jacuzzi tub.
Do the units have washers/dryers?
Yes, all (100%) of our units have a washer and a dryer.
Do you allow pets?
Yes, pets are permitted with a $35.00 extra per month pet lease and a $350.00 nonrefundable pet fee. In the event that an undisclosed pet is discovered during the term of the lease, it will be assumed that the pet has been present for the term of the lease. The tenant will then be charged the additional pet lease, of $35,00 per month, and the $350 nonrefundable pet fee will be due immediately. The pet fee is not considered a deposit but rather is in the nature of spreading among all pet lessees the damages that a few misbehaving animals will ultimately commit. We have no way of knowing which animals will be problematic until after the damage has occurred.
In order to be eligible for a pet lease, your pet must have all immunizations up-to-date, including but not limited to rabies, distemper, parvo, and others as required. Your pet must also be fully house trained. Management has sole discretion to reject any pet it believes does not meet these requirements.
We do not accept Pit bulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers, or any animal with demonstrated aggressive tendencies, regardless of breed, in the sole discretion of management.
The pet owner is responsible for cleaning up after the pet, for any damages occasioned by said pet, and for fully complying with the city of Starkville's animal control ordinance which mandates, among other things, annual registration of dogs at a cost of $10 per dog ($5 if spayed or neutered), proof of rabies vaccination, and a detailed description of the dog, including ID marks, microchip brand and number, tattoos, weight, etc.

A two-bedroom Bully's Suite I or II will cost about $75-$150, including lights, water, garbage, and sewer. A one-bedroom Bulldawg will cost about $75.00-$100.00 per month. How much you wash/dry clothes and temperature selection of the tenant will also affect energy usage.
Do you give free TV cable?
All units are wired to fiber optic grade cable and internet, with contract required with provider, MaxxSouth and each individual tenant. Internet speed depends of the level of service you choose with MaxxSouth. No other internet or cable providers are permitted.
What is the lease procedure?
Our leases require a nonrefundable application/processing fee of $190 and a refundable deposit of $200. Pets require an additional nonrefundable pet fee, as described above. If you choose to live at Brownsville Station, our Property Manager—Leslee W. Fortenberry, CLP (Certified Leasing Professional)—will walk you through the leasing process and explain it to you. For all undergraduates, a parental/guardian signature is required, regardless of tenant’s age. This must be notarized if the parent/guardian is not present at signing. This requirement may be waived for graduate students at the discretion of Brownsville Station.
How is the rent collected?
All rent is collected monthly by ACH bank draft from the account specified by the tenant in the lease. Optionally, pre-payment of rent is accepted in six-month increments only. We do not take cash, checks, or money orders for rent payment, but a check may be accepted for the amount of the deposit/pet fee. A check marked "void” must be provided prior to move in to designate the payment account. In the event that a tenant/parent wishes to set up a separate checking account for this purpose, all major banks in Starkville offer free checking to students.
